The Smiley Steps Team enables children under 11 to achieve
their full potential by helping them learn skills that they can practice for
the rest of their lives.
The Team acknowledges that parents are a child’s best teachers and so
parents and children are actively involved in the programmes. The team provides
the parents with the techniques they need to transfer the skills learned into
every day life at home, empowers them to work with their own child and thereby
installs feelings of mutual success into both parents and child. Many of our
children have been integrated into primary schools achieving levels of independence
that were beyond their parents’dreams.
We
believe that Conductive Education vastly improves a child’s physical abilities,
learning skills and self-esteem, and offers the genuine possibility of a full
and independent life to children with Cerebral Palsy.
